South Road, Extension and Remodel

Set on an amazing plot adjacent to a river in Cambridgeshire, this project was for a complete remodel of the existing 1990’s developer-designed product. The aim was to create a modern home with five en-suite bedrooms which could potentially be let out as holiday accommodation. We came up with a scheme which retained the majority of the internal structure but utterly transformed the house and opened it up to the picturesque garden and river view. In this case, though we advised the Client to get costs early as we suspected that it would be approaching the cost of a complete new build. We quickly established that this was indeed the case and the Client then decided on a smaller scheme which retained the bulk of the original elements but with a more modest extension and budget. In addition to the design work we also completed the Flood Risk Assessment on this project.
