Estuary Drive

This is one of the last remaining areas for development in the centre of Alnmouth. As such it was a unique opportunity. A difficult, sloping site in the centre of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the place deserved a distinctive and sympathetic design. Drawing on the context we came up with a cluster of seven new homes that maximised views out to the estuary and made the most of the small land area available. Using natural materials wherever possible the buildings are clearly contemporary but with a natural ‘skin’ that will weather down and blend in with the surroundings.
